Photo album from the Snowmobile Hall Of Fame Classic Snowmobile Round-upSt. Germain, Wisconsin - May 29, 2005This was the second annual show presented by the Snowmobile Hall Of Fame. There was a very nice turnout of some really nice restored and original sleds. I noticed a rather alarming trend for us amateur restorers who like to ride our sleds. Even the "original" class sleds were cleaner than my restored riders. I hope it doesn't get to the point where these shows are filled with perfect sleds, and owners of "riders" feel discouraged from bringing theirs to display. The weatherman promised a lukewarm rainy day, and fortunately he was wrong. It was a beautiful partly sunny day in the 70's.There was a nice gathering of swappers on hand, and the swap area was well laid out. I spent most of my time there gathering parts for my Stinger restoration this summer. Many thanks in particular to Dennis Kutz and Dean Peterson for keeping us Scorpion fanatics supplied. The show area was, as last year, for sleds only, and they were tightly grouped. I don't like this arrangement because the owners are usually nowhere near their sleds. Many, many questions go unanswered.I got to talk to the new owners of the VSCA, Mike and Judy Meagher. They seem like very nice folks, and I wish them the best in trying to get VSCA back on it's feet. It seems to me they're doing it the right way, getting the magazine back up and running smoothly first, and then build on that foundation. I took the opportunity to put in my $0.02 about more trail sled and tech articles. Mike seemed very receptive to this, and although his first issue will be very race oriented, I look forward to more trail sled content which Mike acknowledges is the biggest sector of the hobby.Select the thumbnails to show the photo in a pop-up window. You may resize the window to enlarge the photo and show more detail.
