One of the highlights of the season for me is the Hoffman family ride held the third weekend in February. The weather was not very cooperative this year. Sunday thru Friday the temperatures were way above normal, peaking at near 50 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. This decimated the decent snow cover we had locally. On Friday the temps were back down, so we trailered up to Valhalla View Pub & Grub in the Chequamegon National Forest, and rode to Cornucopia. Trail conditions varied from very good to very poor. Lots of ice, water, dirt, tree limbs, etc. but also some areas of hard smooth fast trails. On Saturday once again Pub & Grub was the starting point and we rode to Old Baldy. These trails were in pretty good condition, except for about a half mile of gravel road. This was the first time Jennifer came along and she had a really good time. No breakdowns for the Solbergs, a few minor breakdowns here and there, and a major failure when a Yamaha spit out it's track!
