The third week in February Dale and Diane Hoffman once again hosted a great week of vintage sled riding for their family and friends. I feel very fortunate to have been invited along on this ride for the past few years. This is truly a vintage ride with the emphasis on RIDE. We averaged about 65-70 miles each of the three days I rode with them.Snow conditions were pretty good, but high temps in the mid 30's each day meant the road riding got a bit iffy toward the end of the week. The trails got a bit soft in the afternoons but generally held up pretty well.Breakdowns were few, but starting some sleds got to be a challenge in the afternoon heat. I ran my '73 Stinger 290 "Little Red" on Thursday. It ran great all day, but broke the tailpipe off the muffler just as we got back to Dale's place. Friday and Saturday I rode the '72 Stinger II with no problems at all.White River Saloon in Mason provided great food and beverages at the end of each days ride.
