Photo album from the Scorpion Homecoming Exhibition and Trail Ride,Crosby, Minnesota - February 5, 2005On February 5-6, 2005 the Harrison family arranged an exhibition of Scorpion Snowmobiles at their "birthplace", Crosby Minnesota. This was held in conjunction with the annual Cuyuna Range Chamber of Commerce ice fishing contest on Serpent Lake. A first ever gathering of collectors, racers, and former Scorpion employees.Ranging from the air sleds of the 1950's to the last 1981 Sidewinders produced, just about every shape size and color Trail-A-Sled and Scorpion was on display. At one point I counted 150 sleds in the two show lines. With others scattered around the area the total count was probably closer to 200 vintage Scorpions on site. The weatherman delivered a beautiful day for sightseeing, but not for riding. The 50 degree temperatures and bright clear skies made for a mushy lap around Serpent Lake at mid-afternoon. Loading up the trailers at the end of the day was a real adventure with standing water on the ice of the plowed parking area. I managed to stay on my feet, but not everyone was so lucky. One nice departure from most other shows I've attended was evident in the fact that there were very few "trailer queens", non-running sleds, or race-only sleds. The vast majority were "drivers", trail sleds that are frequently used. Some in excellent condition, some a little tattered, but all proudly representing the Scorpion brand.Select the thumbnails to show the photo in a pop-up window. You may resize the window to enlarge the photo and show more detail
