This page combines my hobbies of music and vintage snowmobiles. I've acquired a few tunes related to vintage snowmobiles. Some advertising a specific snowmobile, others about snowmobiling in general. All are from the late 60's early 70's time period.Click once on the associated Windows media control to activate it, then use the controls to play the song. If you're experiencing trouble, please contact me and let me know. The first two are by the Howie Sturtz Orchestra of Wisconsin. Both were composed by Mr. Sturtz and released in 1970 on the album The Best Of The Howie Sturtz Orchestra.
Next is a song by Canadian, Stompin' Tom Connors. It's from his album My Stompin' Grounds.
I don't know much about the next song, except it's really cool (at least to this swede). It is an advertisement for the Larven snöskoter. The Larven was made in Östersund, Sweden and is not a traditional snowmobile. It's more like a powered skiing machine.
Next up are three 60 second radio advertisements, all dated 1978. Thanks to James Swanstrom for giving me an original untouched tape reel containing these radio spots.
Below are links for slide shows of my last three snowmobile seasons. These are Windows Movie files (.wmv) and 1.5 meg or better internet connection is recommended.
