I ran across some family photos taken in early 1970 of my family along with two others out for an afternoon of snowmobiling fun. It sure brings back some fond memories of what snowmobiling used to be during the boom days of the late 60's and early 70's.

I hope you enjoy them, or at least have a few chuckles at my expense.

That would be my father Paul seated on the Scorpion on the right and my mother Evelyn standing beside him.
I’m seated on the Scorpion at right. My best friend Billy is on the Ski-Doo at left.
Gathered at the trailhead, having a picnic lunch. We sometimes hauled all the picnic supplies on sleds behind the snowmobiles and had our meal at a nice view spot back in the woods. For you motor heads, that’s dad's 1967 Dodge Polara. Sure wish I had that to tow my vintage sleds!
Off for a little fun. Riding behind on a toboggan sounds dull, but it was really a blast!
That’s one happy kid. After mercilessly pestering my dad for months, he finally bought a used 1969 Scorpion Mark II 300. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a grin that big since. I was fifteen years old.
My “snowmobile suit” consisted of a black nylon jacket with iron-on red stripes, blue jeans, long johns, wool socks and sorels.
